Arxan, a supplier of application security products, has released a very interesting infographic detailing statistics around software piracy and security. The trends are mostly what one might expect: piracy is on the rise, pirates have access to numerous routes to market and can use pirated code in support of other cyber threats (such as malware injections), and spending on software security is not keeping pace with the threat sources. However, it’s very interesting to see these factors combined with supporting statistics – it puts the issue nicely in context.
