cloudfingr was one of the most interesting websites ever launched into the Canadian cloud community. Creator Michael O’Neil worked with fellow analyst Joe Greene and cloud expert Alex Sirota of NewPath Consulting to build a site that combined analysis of the ‘whats and whys’ of SaaS, IaaS/PaaS, and the surrounding ecosystem with access to research and a directory of Canadian cloud providers. Over time, the site enjoyed support from TELUS, from HP, and from CVCA.
Even great ideas like this one come to an end, though! O’Neil has launched a new venture, InsightaaS.com, with partner Mary Allen (and again, with NewPath’s technical help). The new site, focused on “the ‘why’ in enterprise technology,” remains the best Canadian source for the deep look at cloud that readers once received from cloudfingr.
